Each month, Tina will introduce you to some great nonfiction titles she has enjoyed and keep you in the know about similar titles to look for. Since this isn’t a book group, you’re not expected to have read in advance the books that Tina will be presenting, but attendees are an important part of Nonfiction Chat, and we look forward to your sharing with us what you’re reading now, great past reads, and your areas of interest. July featured titles are: A WAITER IN PARIS: ADVENTURES IN THE DARK HEART OF THE CITY, by Edward Chisholm, and NOMAD CENTURY: HOW CLIMATE MIGRATION WILL RESHAPE OUR WORLD, by Gaia Vince. ZOOM

Just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20th, make yourself comfortable and click on the link you were sent to join the Zoom presentation...then sit back and watch American Vistas: From the Hudson River to Uncharted Territories. In this lecture, ArtScapades looks at the Hudson River School, the first native art movement in the United States. The art of the Hudson River School was strongly nationalistic both in its proud celebration of the natural beauty of the American landscape, and in the desire of its artists to become independent of European schools of painting. The lives and works of the three leading Hudson River School artists, Thomas Cole, Asher B. Durand, and Frederic Edwin Church will be discussed. To register for this lecture, send an email to clahey@norwalkpl.org and you will receive an email with a link to watch ArtScapades present American Vistas.
