Opportunity for Local Indie Authors to Connect with Each Other & the Community While this year is challenging, Norwalk PL is determined to meet and beat the challenge. This year, the library will showcase the work of experienced and aspiring independent authors on its website, as well as host Zoom programs with authors and publishers, who are invited to share personal stories and books with readers and fellow writers. There will be a chat session for authors to collaborate and discuss strategies for getting independently published books into libraries and bookstores; marketing; design; and, of course, writing. There will be a process in place for books to be signed and purchased by readers, and, once again, Norwalk PL will produce a booklet featuring Indie Author Day participants and their books, which will be included in all book bags picked-up by patrons at sidewalk service. We are back with our second Extra Life Charity stream! Our first event in August was a smashing success, far exceeding our expectations - we are taking that positive momentum and bringing it to this second stream. The fine folks at Extra Life are holding their national "Game Day" on November 7, and our resident gamer Aldo will be partaking in a live stream, playing a variety of video games while raising funds towards the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT.
