    Modern American Beginnings: From Beautiful to Gritty ArtScapades returns to the Norwalk Public Library with Modern American Beginnings which explores how a modern movement developed in America led by artists of The Ashcan School and The Eight. The goal of ArtScapades is that you will develop the means to critique a work of art while learning art history and art appreciation. You will come away with both an understanding of these artists and their works, as well as the tools to effectively explore galleries and museums. Works and lives of important artists of the period will be discussed including those of George Bellows, Robert Henri, William Glackens, John Sloan, and Edward Hopper.
