The Seed Library is located on the main level just outside Studio One (1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk), along with brochures on how the self-service procedure works. Borrowing is easy, and the Reference staff is always available to help get you started.
This year, we have a wide array of organic vegetable seeds, including kale, romaine lettuce, arugula, snow peas, carrot, bell pepper, tomato, radish, and squash among others, and herb seeds, including basil and cilantro - just about everything you need to grow your own salad fixings! For the first time, we have Patron Harvested seed drawers, containing Black-eyed Susan, Columbine and Marigold seeds from these efforts. For flower-lovers, we also have Daisies, Pansy, Wildflower Poppy and Sweet Pea seeds.
To borrow seeds, just visit the Seed Library and sign out the seeds you want by entering your name, email address, and the type of seeds you borrow in the Seed Member binder. We’d like to contact you to see how your plants are doing, and hope that you’ll share photos of your project that can be displayed in the library.
Let us know if you have an interest in a monthly seed club (much like a book group), where participants can share gardening experiences, challenges and expertise. And don’t forget our book collection! Whether gardening is your passion, or you simply fiddle around with a few containers on your deck, we have books to inspire your creativity and enhance your gardening experience. Stop at the Information Desk, and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
