This class will concentrate on creating an Alice Neal type of painting. Alice Neal did primarily portraiture of people who were instrumental in the political movements that were going on at that time. As Alice had people sit for her, participants will work from a photograph (of choice), creating a watercolor portrait of a person. Alice had many financial struggles. Learn her story, what her children forfeited for paintbrushes, and the history of how she obtained funding for artists.
